Liberia is located on the Gulf of Guinea in Western Africa, is a very under developed African country. Per capita GDP is only over US$400, which is one of the least developed countries in the world. After years of civil war and Ebola epidemic, Liberia needs to recuperate, develop its economy and improve its people's livelihood. What's more, it needs a new airport terminal as an "International Front" to increase the confidence of every passenger entering Liberia.

Liberia's only international airport, Roberts International Airport, is an important hub connecting Europe and the United States and leading to the world. But it has only one runway. After years of war, it has been embarrassed to use. In order to make the world feel better about Liberia's determination to develop its economy, Liberia launched the renovation and upgrading of Roberts International Airport in 2016. Including the construction of a new 5,000-square-metre terminal, a 1,500-square-metre parking lot, as well as supporting airport internal connection roads, supporting power, communications, water supply and drainage, fire protection, pollutant treatment facilities, etc., the project from construction to renovation and upgrading has attracted great attention from the Liberian Government, resident agencies and international organizations.

Beijing Jinghangan Airport Engineering Co. Ltd. undertook the AGL lighting project of the airport. The construction duration was of 12 months, from March 2017 to May 2018.
